Sunday 6 Pm

Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today and he said we will have 6 weeks more weeks of winter…or more. It also means we have to put our ski shop sale in place 20% off everything including ABR logo clothing, wax, gloves, hats jackets, skis boots etc.

we woke up to 2 inches of snow. We had 4 groomers in and we groomed 88 km of trails including all skate lanes and new classic tracks. It was a great dense snow and was helpful in building the base. BTW Snowfall in IRONWOOD is at 75.4 inches this season, down from our average but plenty to ski on!

oh yeah…the purpose of the blog…..skiing was excellent today! Groomers back out in the early morning.

Saturday 6 pm

Super day of skiing today! We had a bunch of new skiers from the south today, it is so great to introduce ABR Trails to new skiers. We welcome them all to ABR and we encourage them to come back even when there is snow down south, we groomed all the combination trails today, conditions are rated as very good by our standards. Skiers were very pleased.

3-4 inches of snow forecast for tonight, we received about an inch or 2 since 1 pm! Full team of groomers heading out early we should have 80-90 km groomed up by 9 am.

OUR Annual Groundhog SALE starting tomorrow, 20% off everything in the store, clothing, gloves, hats, wax, ski boots, skis, poles, except already sale priced close outs and Foundation logo wear.

Friday 6pm

trails groomed up great this morning. A few south facing classic tracks were glazed but swix blue worked well. The warm temps yesterday did very little to transform the snow. It is still all cold dry powder. Skaters loved the new grooming today.
Don’t forget to order your wrap or sandwiches from Suffolk street Eatery, 906-285-7138

Thursday night 6 pm

no new snow last night but the 3-4 inches yesterday was skiing great today. The groom crew was out today touching up some skate lanes, but concentrated on setting new tracks on classic only. Tomorrow we will touch up skate lanes …the classic tracks are perfect and full depth. Temps got to be 37 at the trailhead, warmer in the shade of course…. But most importantly the snow did not change/transform, still cold dry powder.

we have the Suffolk Street Eatery doing the Saturday “lunchbox special” Saturday. Order by 8 pm tomorrow/Friday and have your wrap/sandwiches/panini, salad delivered Saturday for pick up at noon at the ABR Ticket shack. 906-285-7138, menu is on line or Facebook.

Wednesday 6 pm

3-4 inches of un-forecast lake effect snow arrived last night! We took out both Pisten Bullies and had a lightweight take care of single tracks. By 10 Am we had 87 km groomed and retracked. Temps were perfect and the sun was out…it doesn’t get any better!

bob turned 70 today and his friends came north to celebrate! I heard they skied 30 k.
