I am just coming in from checking the 20 km Spring Race Course and there are too many areas of thin snow and flooding 3 days before the race; the melting from today with 60 F temps and sun was too much for the course. The ABR Spring Race and kids races are cancelled for Sunday. We will have some of the trails open Friday Saturday and Sunday for day skiing. We are planning on closing Sunday at 5 PM for the season.
ABR’s annual Spring Race will be this Sunday, March 20th. It will again feature a unique equalizer format in an attempt to give every skier the same chance of winning!
Check out the Spring Race Flyer for full details.
We had a good team of 10 of us tonight, skiing was quite good even at 5 PM. The trails groomed up well this morning and the snow is holding up for the SUNDAY Spring Race. Pictures by Linda Slining. Those pictured all contribute to keeping ABR running with their generous volunteer hours from grooming trails to repairing groomer transmissions to cutting wood to skidding logs to printing the brochure.
Angela turned 56 today and we had the day off. We had a nice ski on the trails to the south, then a nice ski with the Clydesdales tonight to the north. 1-2 inches of new snow fell today and the skiing was silky smooth.
