We received about 4 inches of snow from 8:30 AM to 2 PM. Winds and snow have stopped so we will be back to grooming in the early AM with a full crew. Looks like one of the Pisten Bullies will be out to groom old ABR. the rest will still be on light equipment. We are grooming 94 km of trails
Wednesday 7 PM
Just coming in from checking trail conditions. We regroomed the Highlands , Pelty, Ridge runner and the new 7 km Dog trails today. Tracks set, fresh cord. Skating still a bit soft on the south but tracks are great. Skating on ABR old (North) is very good. All single tracks are very good except Tamarack 2 track 2 way to Jason Park has a bumpy, icy spot in the ash swamp/flat. No new snow forecast groomers are taking tomorrow off and sleeping in.
Tuesday 6;00 pm
The trails groomed up well this morning with a crew of 5 groomers. After lunch Woolly bully and Pig heart groomed till 4 pm…all 94 km are groomed! 63 km of classic tracks set; we plan to head out in the early am to regroom and track 35 km of trails. Classic skiing today was super and the scenery was like a winter wonderland. 14-16 inches of new snow makes a big difference.
Monday 6:30 PM
What a great snowstorm (“Blizzard” is what we called them in the old days). We received 10 inches by 6 AM and another 4-6 inches during the day. We groomed with a 5 person crew from 6 till noon; then went back out till 3 with 2 groomers. We groomed 82 km today and tracked 25 km. Tomorrow we plan to regroom and retrack and will have all 94 km open for skiing. Conditions are very good for your best skis and for the recreational skier.
