Saturday 4 :30 PM

We had a great day of skiing today, The base is holding up fine, We groomed about 60 km of skate lanes this morning, and we skied on 30 km of skate trails and had 47 km of classic tracks set. With the snow forecast for Sunday I think we can open all 94 km for skiing next week. Forecast is calling for 6 inches of snow from 6 AM to midnight Sunday. Groomers are coming in at 6 AM and we will continue grooming until noon.

Friday 5:30 PM

The new snow really helped the trail conditions this morning. We groomed about 15 km and the temps got up to 32 and too sticky to continue so the skiers skiied in the new 1 inch of snow. We are sending a 3 person groomer team out at 6-9 AM to groom Saturday. We are skiing on 45 km of trails with early season conditions.

Thursday 7:00 PM Good news/bad news.

Good News: The warm temps did not melt the base! The main trails were very skiable today. It is 30 degrees and the base is freezing. We have a 3 person groomer team lined up for early AM grooming. Flat trails with limited hills are listed in order: Deer Trail, Jacks Flats, Cherry, Blueberry 2 way, Warm up Loop. River Trail w bypass, PitPoint w bypass, Memory Lane, Jack Pine. That is about 45 km

Bad news: I do not see us opening the Highlands for the weekend. We are closing the Peltonen Passout expert trail and we are closing the Blueberry big down hill. until we get more snow. We will not be resetting tracks until we get more snow. Tracks could get slick w out resetting them.

I will report back about 10 AM after we return from grooming.

Wednesday 7:30 PM

4 groomers in early AM groomed 52 k of skate lanes and set another 15 km of classic tracks on combi trails .. Tracks reset on Pelty, Dog Trails, and Jacks Flats We are skiing are on 55 -65 km of trails . We still hope the Highlands this weekend and Puumala Trails to get all 94 km open.

I am just checking trail conditions in a few spots tonight …..The base held up well today even with temps above 32 F. Groomers are on call for Thursday AM, looks like a good forecast for the weekend.

Tuesday 5:30 PM

What a great day of grooming, 4 groomers grooming today. We groomed for a 6 hour shift early morning. We are grooming 94 km, We are skiing on 55 km of trails (Old ABR…North) all with classic tracks except the dog trails and Pelty. Coverage is very good, but still thin spots in the classic tracks under the conifirs.

Highlands, Windy Ridge, Puumala Trails and Jacks flats still closed to freeze down. Highlands exit hill will need some shoveling to make it good… these trails should be open for the weekend.

4 person groom crew again in the early AM to knock down another inch of forecast snow, or smooth out todays ski marks.
