The Lake effect snow has been kicking in for the past few hours off and on. I am just coming in from grooming . Spent most of my time out on the Highlands and Ridge Runner. The conditions have been great (from early season conditions 7 weeks ago) to excellent conditions …. after 5 feet of snow and hundreds of grooming hours.
Thursday 9 am
all 75 km are tracked and groomed. The 2inches of heavy snow groomed up well.
Saturday 9 am
another 1-2 inches of snow overnight. We groomed all skate trails and reset most tracks
Wednesday 6;30 pm
I groomed 20 k of skate lanes today, skiers were happy w skating and classic because temps warmed nd softened the classic tracks. Skiers were even skiing the classic only today w smiles. Looks like snow coming mid morning Thursday.
Sunday 9 pm
Just coming in from grooming tonight the trails are grooming up as cold dry powder. I groomed 20 km of skate lanes. The Trails are still well covered . closed off the Highlands tonight, We will not be grooming to the south for a few days or until we get new snow. Classic Tracks are well formed on the combination trails 20 km, but worn a bit on the classic only, all classic tracks are a bit glazed.
