Thursday 7 pm

skiers have been quite surprised on current conditions! we have snow, 5 groomers show up early morning and we drive around with the 2 way radios and harass each other. The end result we have some skiable conditions at 9 am.
still a few thin areas but the new snow is really mixing well with the old snow, we are making a 100% effort to have the best skiing conditions we can.

Thursday 10 Am

groomers just coming in.. the new 1 inch of snow groomed into the old base. We have not reset any classic tracks, they are still worn. The highlands need more snow to safely ski. Trail conditions are better than yesterday.

January 1st, 2025 6 pm

The 5 groomers all showed up and were all sober. What a great start to the New Year! 38 km groomed and skiable! It is snowing and has been for the last 8 hours❤️

we groomed River, Popple ,memory (memory is thin and in poor condition) then we went back on Blueberry from the open bowl and diverted on Tammarack to return….not including memory a nice 10 km on pretty decent snow, no big hills but gentle rolling.

we groomed Blueberry Bluffs to cold feet shortcut and Meadow Ridge diverting to Cherry Dairy on the last downhill. This is a nice easy 4 km with no major hills.

we groomed Cherry Dairy and Deer Trails (with a dead end turn around). 3 km or so close to the trailhead.

WE ALSO GROOMED ; Tamarack to the crossover , jack pine to white pine. Flat no tracks open to skate skiers or classic. About 16 k.

dog trails were groomed across the road 5k. Very good coverage and low usage.

tommorow we plan to groom about the same, but we are adventuring into the Highlands using the connector at the Hendrickson/Kaartunen House. Our plan is to groom a 10 km section and use connectors to eliminate the big hills and icy lowlands…. This may be an option for the SISU that is viable.

check in after grooming tomorrow.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

we groomed the same trails as we have the last several days, River, Popple, returning on Tamarack and then Blueberry, Meadow, cherry and Deer and the dog trails. We also groomed tamarack and jack pine and white pine. Flat so they can be skate or classic. The trails are getting better with every day and every grooming, 5 groomers each groomed 25-30 k this morning , so that is 125– 150 km total…many loops.

New Years Eve 5 pm

same broken record…4 groomers, same route. However skiers are reporting better and better conditions every day from the multiple passes with light equipment. Today I ventured off on jack pine and dragged it to break up old ice, it made a huge difference. Tommorrow we have 5 groomers, 2 of us will hunker down on some of the classics…. Not to set track but to try to open some of the single track and make it skiable. So hopefully more k open 2025, I will report back at 9 or 10 am after grooming
