Wednesday 6:30 pm

what a nice surprise , lake effect snow all day long! Skiers enjoyed the firm base under the 4-6 inches of snow that fell on todays morning grooming! We groomed most of the combi trails this morning and retracked …we left classic only trails for tomorrow’s grooming.

we plan to have Pig Heart groom with the bigger Pisten Bully on all of “old ABR’ early in the morning, Crasher and Black Smith will groom the Highlands and Ridge Runner, ( not sure yet if Ridge Runner will be classic or skate, check in at the front desk. After 9 am coffee break we will conquer some of the classic only trails, not sure if we make it to Puumala trails and wolf tracks.

Lunchbox Saturdays started today. Order your pastie from Rigonis bakery with coupon code ABR and get a discounted Pastie delivered to the guard shack/ or main chalet at 12 noon. Order at /.  https://www.rigonibakery.com/

Wednesday 9 am

Tuesday 8 pm

very sorry for the late post, I am just coming in from a meeting, one of my top 10 favorite activities, grooming is still number 1.

we have 2 of us heading out early tommorow to groom, the temps have moderated and will continue to over the next few days. Rigonis Bakery is on the schedule for this Saturday lunchbox Saturday.

Monday 6 pm

it was chilly today! You don’t hear that from me too much but -24 f at 5 am, I called snowcross, our up and becoming new chief groomer, and he said I don’t think it will add value to the skiing experience, most skiers will be classic skiing and the tracks are fresh and in great shape. The skiers today headed out on tamarack to silo’s warming cabin and Jason park warming shelter and a few headed north to jack pine white pine.

Sunday 6 pm

I am so impressed by the dedication of our staff, both grooming and working the ski shop, shoveling and plowing etc…and our skiers. They are so loyal and dedicated to our ABR FAMILY.

We groomed up 78 km of trails today at -18 F, set tracks on 61 km. Skiers were pleased. I am so impressed with the turn out of skiers on a cold day, the wooded trails were used mostly and the trailside warming cabins were heated by skiers to help extend the distance they could venture out to.

Monday we plan to touch up skate lanes, Re track the Highlands, re-track Puumala…maybe more.

this is why we do what we do..this group of 4 families (many missing from photo) have been coming for 21 years on MLK Weekend, the children were 3-5 years old when they came here in 2004.
